The Early Visitor

I don't have much to report as I've just been working the past couple of days.  I do have an intersting thing to share though.  So the past few days I've had some minor menstral cramps.  I blew them off cuz I'm only on cycle day 20 and I  NEVER get my period early.  Never have I ever.  So, I go use the restroom...and I've started.  I decided to do some research and I found out that estrogen is stored in body fat.  When you lose body fat rapidly, it dumps that estrogen into your blood stream and that can cause your periods to be wonky.  I thought that was interesting.  Any of you have similar experiences??

I am all over the place....even on the pill I don't get them on the due day (anywhere to 3-6 days after!) weird I know, but I am sure it's my hormones/estrogen levels all over the place....hopefully one day it will get back to normal...surgery etc can also cause you to go early and/or late.

That happened to me as well...the first 3 months or so. They came early and were heavy and lasted twice as long! I'm 9 months out now and they are back to normal - thank Goodness!
However, I do have more mood swings, and a 2 week long PMS now instead of 1 week like I used to have. I think it's the estrogen. Hopefully once I stop losing weight it will taper off.

So strange you mentioned this! I am on continuous birth control due to endometriosis/adenomyosis and I started yesterday despite the b.c.

I was just going to blame it on everyone else in blog world having TTOTM this past week, though! LOL

After getting banded my period started showing up earlier and earlier. I used to be random and about every 4-6 weeks, but now it is 28 days to the day or earlier!

I take YAZ & no longer get my periods - but man I had all the signs last week & thought it was coming for sure. It never did; but I haven't felt that bad in a while.

Just having surgery can cause it to come early or late. Happens to me every time. It should straighten out next month.

mine came shortly after surgery and was super heavy when normally it's really way light. i also noticed some spotting after it was over and that was weird, too. i'm on ortho lo and hoping that things level out for the next one that comes.

I've had one period since my surgery and it lasted about 10 days. It usually lasts four.

I never knew that about estrogen. I hope this means that as I lose weight my cycle will be more regular.
