Well, today is my last day of "normal" eating. I've been excited up to this point, now I'm a bit scared and sad. I know I'll do fine, but it just all seems crazy. No solid food for the next month. (at least 2 weeks pre and post surgery) Say whaaaaat? lol!
So I work tonight 6pm-6am. My pre-op diet (water, broth, sf jello, protein shakes) starts at midnight. So I figure I'll have my last meal at work. I haven't decided what that will be yet, but probably nothing spectacular. Maybe a Wendy's cheeseburger since they are right next door.
I'll be putting up my official start weight and "before" pics tomorrow.

Yes! How exciting is this? Listen, eating only liquids sucks, NO LIE. But you just got to remember that this is a short period of time and then you will be back to normal. As my wonderful doctor says, this is the last diet you ever have to do for the rest of your life! So, just tell yourself that YES it will suck, but you just HAVE to do it! I am on Day 7 of my 21 day post-op liquid diet. Only day 7! I have a long ways to go and I just keep telling myself those same things. This is the last day of your old self, enjoy this time!!
The best thing about the liquid diet is the weight loss, the second best thing is how amazing the first meal afterwards tastes. :)
I start liquids in less than two weeks! I feel the same way you do. I can't imagine liquids for a month, but I am looking forward to the beginning!!
Trust me - this phase will pass before before you know it. You will be chewing real food in what seems like no time flat - Good Luck!
Pre-op diet...that means banding day will be here soon!! I hear it gets easier about day 5, hang in there! -BG

I had a choice of liquid or a very restricted diet and I took food. Its hard to be good but better than having a shake to look forward to after a long day at work. I just had egg on toast and it was yummy. I really feel for you but as everyone has said you have such a great reward at the end of it that its worth the pain now. I have done a total liquid for 5 months before and I can tell you it does get better after the first 4 to 5 days. Hand on in there x
I just started following your blog. Happy u are starting the pre op diet. Awesome..
